Meet the Executive Team
Siniša Pratljačić
Chief Executive Officer
Siniša Pratljačić is an experienced insurance and financial services executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience in regulated financial institutions across Southeast Europe. Before joining Europa Re AG as Chief Executive Officer, he served as Chairman of the Executive Board of Globos osiguranje ADO, where he successfully led the company through a period of significant transformation, growth, and capital strengthening. During his tenure, the company expanded from a small market participant into one of Serbia’s leading non-life insurers.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Pratljačić held senior management roles at DDOR Osiguranje and Euroherc Osiguranje, gaining extensive experience in insurance operations, regional management, business development, and market expansion. His expertise includes corporate governance, risk management, capital and balance sheet management, strategic growth, and regulatory affairs. Mr. Pratljačić holds a degree in Economics with specialisation in Finance, Banking and Insurance and studied Business Administration at John Cabot University.

Chief Underwriting Officer
Marijana Lemić Saramandić
Marijana Lemić Saramandić is a senior reinsurance and risk management executive with more than 30 years of international experience in insurance, reinsurance, enterprise risk management, underwriting and structuring of parametric and alternative risk transfer solutions. She serves as CUO and Member of the Executive Board of the Company, responsible for underwriting strategy, capital-efficient portfolio design, portfolio management and risk governance across international markets. She oversees all reinsurance and retrocession operations and contributes to the strategic development of the Company. Prior to her current role, Ms. Lemić-Saramandić served as Country Manager for Serbia and N. Macedonia where she led market operations and business development initiatives. A significant part of her career was spent in DDOR Novi Sad where she played a key role in the establishment of DDOR Re and subsequently served as President of the Management Board. Ms. Lemić-Saramandić has also acted as a leading insurance and reinsurance expert on numerous World Bank and EBRD projects. In this role, she advised governments and insurance regulators across 12 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia on the reform, modernization, and development of their insurance sectors. Ms. Lemić-Saramandić graduated from the Faculty of Economics and obtained her Master's degree from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. She is fluent in Serbian, English and Italian.

Chief Financial Officer
Laura Gjinali
Laura Konda Gjinali is a senior finance and risk management executive with 25 years of experience in corporate finance, insurance, audit, accounting, and enterprise risk management. She is the CFO and Member of the Executive Management of the company, where she leads financial strategy and reporting, financial regulatory compliance, internal controls, risk management, and financial management of international development projects across multiple regions. Previously, Laura worked as a consultant for the World Bank and served as Country Manager of Grant Thornton Albania, where she established and developed local operations. Earlier in her career, she was CFO of Atlantik Albania, where she established the company's financial management and control systems. Laura also lectured in accounting, insurance, and risk management at the European University of Tirana as a visiting professor for several years. Ms. Gjinali holds an MBA in Finance and Banking from EU Business School and an M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Tirana, both earned with honors. She is also a Certified General Accountant (CGA) and Certified Auditor (CA). Laura is fluent in English, in French and Italian.

Chief Project Officer
Nadica Jovanovska Boshkovska
Dr. Nadica Jovanovska-Boshkovska is Chief Project Officer at Europa Re AG, where she leads the development and implementation of public sector risk financing and insurance solutions globally. With more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, she has worked extensively with governments, international organizations, and private sector stakeholders, particularly in emerging markets globally. Her expertise includes climate and disaster risk financing, agricultural insurance, sovereign risk transfer solutions, and sustainable insurance mechanisms. Throughout her career, she has supported governments in strengthening financial resilience against natural catastrophes and agricultural risks through the development of risk financing strategies, insurance programs, and institutional frameworks. Dr. Jovanovska-Boshkovska has also served as an international consultant for organizations including the United Nations Development Programme, Food and Agriculture Organization, and the World Bank, contributing to projects across Europe and Central Asia. In addition to her professional role, she serves as Assistant Professor at University American College Skopje. She holds a bachelor's degree and PhD in Economics from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and a master's degree in international finance from University of Rome Tor Vergata. She also completed a professional certification program in agriculture economics at Cornell University.

Senior Compliance Officer
Iulia Ariana Durbacel
Iulia Ariana Durbacel is a senior governance and compliance professional with more than two decades of experience in the (re)insurance sector and a distinctive combination of supervisory, regulatory, and market experience. She currently serves as Senior Compliance Officer and Secretary to the Board of Directors. She advises the Board and management on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters and contributes to the continued development of the company's governance, risk, and control framework. Her responsibilities also extend to projects implemented by the company in emerging insurance markets and backed by international financial institutions and donors. Prior to joining the company, she worked for the Romanian insurance supervisory authority, where she held supervisory, advisory, and corporate secretarial roles and participated in regulatory cooperation and supervisory exchange activities involving European financial and supervisory institutions. During this period, she represented the institution within CEIOPS/EIOPA as a member of the Consumer Protection and Financial Innovation Committee and the Insurance Guarantee Schemes Committee and was a member of the College of Supervisors of a major international insurance group, contributing to cross-border supervisory coordination and group-level risk assessment activities. She is fluent in English and has a strong professional command of French. She holds a B.A. in Law, an M.Sc. in Finance and Insurance, and an M.Sc. in International and European Law.

HR & Contract Management Officer
Vlatko Mrkev
Prior to joining Europa Re in February 2013, Mr. Mrkev worked for more than 10 years as Procurement Specialist on several projects financed by the World Bank. He has extensive experience in procurement of goods and works as well as in selection and employment of consultants in accordance with the applicable World Bank Guidelines, rules and procedures. Mr. Mrkev holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Economy, Major in Marketing, from the State University Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, Republic of N. Macedonia. He is a certified trainer in public procurement.

Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors
Branko Pavlović, PhD
He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade and attained a Ph.D. from the Department of Economics, University of Belgrade. He also licensed by the National Bank of Serbia as a qualified actuary. He has been a member of the Executive Board of Globos Insurance company in Serbia from 2020. For over 17 years he was a member of the top management of Delta Insurance company, Delta Generali Insurance company and Generali insurance company in Serbia. He is the President of the Association of Actuaries of Serbia, a member of the Council of the International Association of Actuaries and a court expert in actuarial science. He was the President of the Actuarial Commission of the Association of Insurers of Serbia from 2013 to 2018 and the President of the Electronic Business Committee of the Council of Foreign Investors (FIC) during 2018. Married, father of four children.
